Resources for Artists: Residencies

Hey y’all!

I thought I would compile a list of residencies for artists which are open to applications now.

I listed everything in a “bare bones” fashion, meaning I only put things like deadlines and what you get in this post. You should check through to the website for more info!

The Franklin Furnace Fund

The Franklin Furnace Fund awards grants annually to emerging artists to enable them to produce major performance art works in New York. Grants range from $2000 to $10,000 based on peer review panel.

Bibliothek Andreas Züst

1-4 week stays in November or April, you can apply for CHF 250 stipend but all other costs are not provided

Deadline: 5/31


The Bau Institute

In 2014 BAU Institute launched a new arts residency hosted by the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France. The fellowship provides artists with live-work apartments at no cost and no stipend.


Mildred S. Friedman Design Fellowship

Fellowship begins in August and lasts one year during which fellows work full-time in the department receiving $30,000 for the fellowship year with a $2,000 relocation allowance and excellent benefits.

Fellows are eligible to receive benefits such as paid vacation and sick days and health and dental insurance.


The island – resignified 

The residency is hosted by neion, a guesthouse located on a hill, in the northern part of the island of Lefkada, Greece. Nothing covered, except living. Projects must be tailored to the location.


The Shandakan Project

The Shandaken Project at Storm King initiative provides housing and studio facilities with the particular aim of supporting process and experimentation. Residencies last for two to six weeks, an allotment which is determined at the time of acceptance between residents and the project’s staff. Begins between June 5 – September.
